Amakoekoe Guest House/lodge is located in Honeydew, where owners André and Sanet Koekemoer officially opened the guest house in August 2002, naming it "Amakoekoe" as an amusing play on their surname “Koekemoer" interpreted as "ama" meaning "the" and "koekoe" as an abbreviation of "Koekemoer".

Amakoekoe is surrounded by carefully maintained, vibrant gardens. In this tranquil paradise, indigenous birdlife is abundant, and the unrivalled hospitality makes every stay an unforgettable experience. The guest house has a distinctly African elegance and is decorated throughout with breathtaking hand-crafted works of art.
